The Honeywell FMZ series is often installed at the factory and is very well integrated. Pelmet, I find that it all depends if the FMS/FMC was installed at the factory in the new airplane or as an improvement post-delivery. The best thing is if you can find a computer based unit or bench powered version to practice on which sure beats hooking up a GPU and sitting in the cockpit all day. It went through loading and changing flight plans, loading arrivals, way points, approaches, etc.
Years back I was able to find a sweet on-line trainer that had a free demo version. I think he went to transport or something. if anyone knows where he is he might help the OP.

I have no idea how to get a hold of Kirk Macneil anymore but he had a pretty good PC based training set up for it.
Lots of gotchas, and lots of limitations but it's a pretty cool box. Neither the FAA examiner nor the sim operator knew it could do that. I showed a guy how to bring up the runway centre line on his HSI with it while on a circling approach without deleting the selected approach) and he was blown away. The guys at Simuflite had very little knowledge of how to use it either. I had a training captain at Sunwest tell me you had to delete the entire flight plan to add a way point so negative on the line indoc in some cases. Judging solely by my experiences on the 1-k and M almost nobody knows how to use it to its potential. IMHO delta latitudes it's far from straight forward.
